It is pleasant to meet women in your own neighbourhood, village or community. Women do this throughout the world. Often they do this in an organised way within a women’s organisation. One makes the acquaintance of other women, engages in activities, which would otherwise have no place, one gets to know new things, (new) talents given a chance… Obviously, women’s organisations also have an emancipating effect within the (local) community. Moreover, women’s organisations are an ideal channel for allowing new developments and insights to flow to the environment of families, such as healthcare, litter prevention, upbringing…

Together with the Romanian partners who have connections in the Province of Limburg, work is in progress on starting local women’s organisations. Knowledge and experience, which are available in Limburg are exchanged. The Limburg Romania operations can make a start alongside their Romanian partners. Limburg women’s organisations, that want to take ‘godparenthood’ will have the opportunity of converting solidarity into action. Inside Romania, young women’s organisations are brought together to work on a good ‘formula’ to launch a women’s organisation on local level.
