LYwG: Support Structure for Local Youth work Groups
Young people in Romania want to take the initiative in society. During exchanges (1999) it became clear to them that the youth movement/playing fields operation (with play as method) was for them an interesting and attainable form of youth works. At the request of young Romanian people, Somepro began with the setting up of courses in Romania.

After 3 years, the courses grew to a national dimension and support for this youth work in Romania was sought. Together with the National Youth Authority (ANT) the project was implemented. A new NGO was set up within the project called ‘Asociatia Grupurilor Locale de Tineret’ (AGLT), which starts up and supports local youth groups and provides the necessary training. Every year 5 courses are given. In 2000 this was done in 3 Romanian communities. In the year 2005, over 50 communities have meanwhile become involved. This project was developed in cooperation with the Flemish youth work sector.
With the financial support of the Flemish Government.
